Trash Removal
Trash Services
Trash Service is provided by Waste Management. The service day for Hampton Township is Monday. Information on Waste Management's rates and regulations for unlimited curb service for household trash and recyclables is available online.
If you are a new resident to the Township and need to sign up for residential garbage/recycling collection, you can contact Waste Management at 1-800-458-4090 or sign up on-line at www.wm.com.
Holidays That Will Delay Garbage Pick Up
For 2019, the following holidays will affect garbage/recycling pick up:
- Memorial Day
- Labor Day
Garbage, Recycling & Yard Waste Collection Schedule
Times
Trash and Recycle must be placed at the curb before 6 a.m., however trash is not to be put out prior to 6 p.m. the night before and empty trash containers must be removed by 6 p.m. the day of pickup.
Complaints
Complaints should be directed to Waste Management at 1-800-458-4090. Non-resolved problems should be directed to Susan Bernet at 412-486-0400, extension 1303. Any spillage by Waste Management vehicles should also be reported to Susan Bernet immediately.
Special Pick Up
To schedule a special pick up for an additional charge for items caused by repairs or construction such as: paneling, plasterboard, commodes, bathtubs (cast iron not included) kitchen cabinetry and floor tile please call Waste Management at 1-800-458-4090.
Electronics Recycling Program
Effective January 24, 2013, the Pennsylvania Covered Device Recycling Act requires that electronic devices such as computers, laptops, monitors, and televisions no longer be taken as part of your regular trash. Waste Management offers a curbside electronics collection program as part of its HHW At Your Door Program (PDF). Also additional options for E-waste recycling can be found in the Allegheny County Recycling Resource Directory (PDF).

The following items will not be accepted at the curb or at the landfill:

- Automobile Parts
- Broken Concrete
- Bushes, Shrubs or Other Vegetation with Earth or Soil Attached to the Root System
- Concrete Wash Tubs
- Dirt
- Flammable Liquids
- Free Liquids
- Garage Door Openers
- Grease Drums
- Guns
- Hot Tubs
- Large Screen Televisions
- Lead Acid Batteries
- Loose Needles
- Metal 55 Gallon Drums
- Other Chemicals
- Paint and Stains (Paint Cans Containing Dried Paint with Lids Removed May Be Placed at the Curb with the Lid Removed)
- Paving Materials
- Pianos
- Pool Chemicals
- Rocks
- Sand
- Sod
- Spas
- Stones
- Syringes and Lancets
- Tree Trunks, Parts of Tree Trunks, or Tree Trunks That Have Been Cut into Smaller Pieces
- Waste Resulting from a Landlord's Eviction of a Tenant
- Water Softeners That Have Not Been Emptied of Salt
