Chickens on Residential Properties

Update: On July 28, 2021 Council voted to approve the amendments to the Zoning Ordinance that will allow chickens to be kept on certain residentially zoned properties.  The following links can be used to view the regulations in full and apply for a permit to keep domestic chickens on your property.

The following is a list of Land Development applications that are currently under review with the Township.  Individual building permits, or building permit applications have not been included on the list.  To request information regarding any of the following applications, please contact the Land Development Office at (412) 486-0400 ext. 1327.  Please see below for a list of variance applications currently under review.

21-22 Strickland Brothers Conditional Use

The applicant is proposing to redevelop the property located at 4768 Route 8 in a Highway Commercial (HC) zoning district. The proposal would include the demolition of the existing vacant commercial building and the construction of a new 1,770 square foot quick-service oil change station. Auto service stations are allowable only as a Conditional Use in the HC zoning district. 

This application will be reviewed by the Planning Commission on February 14, 2022 at 7:30 pm.  A Public Hearing will be held on February 23, 2022 at 7:30 pm prior to the regularly scheduled Council meeting.  The application will be reviewed by Township Council on February 9, 2022 and February 23, 2022 at 7:30 pm.

21-23 Strickland Brothers Revised Site Plan

The applicant is proposing to redevelop the property located at 4768 Route 8 in a Highway Commercial (HC) zoning district. The proposal would include the demolition of the existing vacant commercial building and the construction of a new 1,770 square foot quick-service oil change station. The application will include improvements related to the parking area, lighting, buffer yards, and landscaping. 

This application will be reviewed by the Planning Commission on February 14, 2022 at 7:30 pm and by the Environmental Advisory Council on February 15, 2022 at 7:00 pm.  The application will be reviewed by Township Council on February 9, 2022 and February 23, 2022 at 7:30 pm.

THE ZONING HEARING BOARD WILL CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 25, 2022 AT 7:30 PM, AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER TO HEAR THE FOLLOWING CASE:

CASE NO. 22-01 – The applicant, Dean LeDonne, is requesting a variance to the Zoning Ordinance, No. 310, under TABLE A,  for a proposed single family dwelling that that encroaches on the required 25’ side setback by approximately 10’, on property located at  4742 Roland Road.
