Little Medical School
We are excited to announce we will be partnering with Little Medical School again this winter!
Little Medical School® brings medicine, science and the importance of health to children in an entertaining, exciting and fun way. Both programs aim to inspire children to aspire for careers in healthcare through demonstrations, crafts, and games! Children will also learn how the body and organs work, how to use instruments that real doctors use, and even tie knots like a real surgeon! All programs are taught by a trained professional. Both programs will be held on Saturdays, at the Community Center, beginning February 19th - March 26th. Each child will receive a diploma as a graduate of Little Medical School upon completion, too!
Little Veterinary Dog School - Section 2 will take place 10:00 am - 11:00 am and Little Pediatrician School will take place 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.
These programs are designed for children ages 5 - 10. Registration fee is for all 6 classes and includes the cost of all supplies and materials including your own stuffed pet to take care of! Interested in one or both classes? Click here to register! Registration is available January 3rd for both Residents and Non-Residents!
Little Veterinary Dog School - Section 2
Students will role-play the key staff functions performed at a veterinary office and how to keep their “adopted” plush puppy healthy. These future veterinarians will explore digestion, the different parts of the canine eye, animal body language and how X-rays are used to diagnose and treat common illnesses.
Little Doctor School
After “adopting” their own plush baby, students will role-play the key responsibilities of a pediatrician and learn how to perform a head-to-toe exam on a newborn. These future pediatricians will learn about diapering, diaper rash, bottling, burping, the infant Heimlich maneuver, childhood immunizations, and safe sleeping.
