Social Services
Angela began her internship with us August, 2020 and since then has graduated with her Master of Social Work from Slippery Rock University. Angela is certified in CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and has her national certification in Forensics Social Work. Her experience consists of 7 years in the substance abuse and mental health fields. Angela is a full time Social Services Coordinator here within Hampton Township. She works closely with the Police Department, schools, and other departments within the municipality where she offers a variety of therapeutic social services. Angela is available to offer services to those associated with traumatic incidents, death, family conflicts, substance abuse issues, mental health concerns, homelessness, geriatric concerns, disputes, violent crimes such as domestic violence, child and elder abuse, and sexual assault, and juvenile related services. Services include assistance in the following areas:
Violent Crimes
Crimes involving domestic violence, child & elder abuse, and/or sexual assault. Services provided include telephone outreach, crisis intervention, critical incident, stress management services, and follow-up and/or referral services for victims and/or their families The Social Services coordinator can act as a liaison between client(s) and involved agencies such as the police, treatment facilities, etc. We can offer assistance to police, Department of Children and Family Services, or senior services with abuse/neglect situations while also providing education, case management services, and short-term counseling for victims and their families.
Juvenile & Adolescents
Teen behavior concerns such as running away or getting into trouble with the law. The Social Services Coordinator can offer crisis intervention, short term counseling, referral services to families, and family-based services for both adolescents and their families. We can provide consultation to parents as well as education and resources on juvenile problem behaviors while acting as a liaison between family and involved agencies such as schools and/or police.
Traumatic Incidents & Deaths
Traumatic incidents such as homicide, suicide, and/or death notifications. The Social Services Coordinator can offer critical incident stress management services to victims, families, witnesses, police officers, and employees as well as a continuum of care and liaison between residents and police, medical examiner’s office, hospital, court, fire department, school, and others.
Family Conflicts
The Social Services Coordinator can provide education, case management, short-term counseling services provided to families, and family-based service referrals.
Alcohol & Substance Abuse Problems
The Social Services Coordinator can provide assessment and referral services to individuals and/or family members experiencing a substance abuse or alcohol abuse problem as well as education, case management, and short-term counseling services provided to individuals and their families.
Psychiatric Illness/Mental Health Concerns
Social Services Coordinator can provide mental health assessments, recommendations & referrals as well as facilitation of emergency hospitalizations such as voluntary and involuntary admissions for psychiatric care. We also offer professional consultation for police assistance with individuals who may be depressed, suicidal, delusional, and psychotic; unable to function or exhibiting inappropriate behavior as well as trauma debriefing for victims or witnesses of disaster or crimes. Services include education, case management, and short-term counseling services provided to individuals and their families.
Financial Needs & Homelessness
Resources and referrals to shelters and assistance (financial, food, etc.)
Hoarding
The Social Services Coordinator can act as a liaison between individuals and Code Enforcement as well as offering support, education, case management, and short-term counseling services provided to individuals and their families. We also provide clean up service referrals, education, case management, and short-term counseling services provided to individuals and their families.
Geriatric Concerns
The Social Services Coordinator can provide education, case management, and short-term counseling services provided to individuals and their families.
Domestic Disputes
The Social Services Coordinator can provide crisis intervention, family assessments, short-term counseling, and referral services.
