Yard Waste
Yard Waste will be collected by Waste Management the 3rd full week of each month, from April through November, the same day as your trash and recycling. Items included are:
- Brush
- Garden residue (no dirt attached) in paper biodegradable bags
- Leaves in paper biodegradable bags
- Limbs
- Shrubbery
- Tree trimmings cut in 4 feet length, no larger than 3 inches diameter, no greater than 40 pounds securely tied and bundled
- Twigs
The Township recognizes that for most property owners, storing leaf bags for once-a-month collection can be very difficult. This being the case, Township Community Services/Road Crews will collect leaf bags only (in paper biodegradable bags) during peak fall leaf season only. This collection will take place during the off weeks that Waste Management does not collect yard waste. Place the leaf bags at the curb by 6:00 am the morning of your normal trash/recycling day; our crews will be by to collect them as soon as possible. Please visit the Township's website or "Township of Hampton" Facebook page in the fall of each year to determine the last week of collection (this date changes due to winter weather conditions).
No grass clippings will be collected as part of yard waste. Grass clippings may be put with your garbage on your garbage day (place in a regular plastic garbage bag, and they have to be placed in the Waste Management trash cart that was provided to you). You can purchase up to two (2) additional trash carts for a one-time charge (no additional monthly charge) by contacting Waste Management.
Christmas Trees will be collected during the months of December, January and February. Trees must be cut into lengths no greater than six feet and can be left at the curb for collection.
