[ARCHIVED] Emergency Medical Services in Hampton Township

Currently, emergency medical services that are provided to Hampton residents are through an organization known as Hampton Township EMS, which as you may or may not know is a separate stand-alone organization from the Township. Although they share our name, the Township neither operates this organization nor has any oversight control as to how they provide their services.

Because of a number of complaints that were filed with the Township regarding Hampton EMS, an observation and assessment study was conducted of this organization and their service delivery during this year.  The results of this study were most concerning to the Township and an alternative approach as to how EMS should be provided to the Hampton citizenry has been recommended.  A copy of the executive summary to this report can be viewed on the attached link:  EMS Observation and Assessment Study Summary Report.

Rest assured that because this was a comprehensive review, the Township has well thought out how an alternative service can be provided.  If and when this alternative service is put into place, an advanced life support EMS crew will be located within the boundaries of the township on a 24 hour/7 day a week basis.

Should you desire to obtain a full copy of the report presented to Council, please feel free to complete an on-line “Public Records Review/Duplication Request” on the Township’s website under “Online Forms”, or contact the Township office for the purpose of completing the appropriate Public Records Review/Duplication Request form.

Thank you,

W. Christopher Lochner,

 Municipal Manager
