Council December Actions

Hampton Township Council held their Regular Meeting on December 13th; actions from the meeting included, but not limited to:


- A public hearing was held regarding the proposed 2018 Township General Operations and Capital Improvements Budgets.

- Enacted Ordinance No. 802 establishing the 2018 Tax Millage rate at 2.4966 mills-no millage increase (1.979 for general operating purposes; .3140 for capital improvement purposes; and .2036 for fire purposes).

- Enacted Ordinance No. 803 adopting the 2018 General Fund Budget.

- Enacted Ordinance No. 804 adopting the 2018 Capital Improvements Fund Budget.

- Accepted the proposal from NexTier Bank at an interest rate of 1.46% regarding the 2018 Tax and Revenue Anticipation Note (Note is in the amount of $2,250,000).

- Authorized to advertise Council's 2018 Organization Meeting for Tuesday, January 2nd, at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building.

- Adopted Resolution No. 974 establishing 2018 rates for engineering consulting and legal counsel services.

- Adopted Resolution No. 975 amending the Memorandum of Understanding Terms and Conditions of Employment for the Municipal Manager.

- Adopted Resolution No. 976 amending the Memorandum of Understanding Terms and Conditions of Employment for the Chief of Police.

- Approved an agreement with Maher Duessel for auditing services for the years ending December 31, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

- Certified the list of volunteer firefighters eligible under Act 172 to claim local tax credits.

- Adopted Resolution No. 977 opting out of Act 42 of 2017 regarding Category 4 casinos.

- Tabled an ordinance establishing an EMS authority with the Township of Shaler.

- Rescinded the preferred dispatch status regarding emergency medical services from Hampton EMS and recognized Shaler EMS as the preferred dispatch EMS provider for the Township.

- Approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Shaler EMS regarding emergency medical services.

- Authorized the advertisement of an ordinance establishing an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement with the Township of Shaler and Shaler EMS for the purpose of providing emergency medical services. (ordinance to be considered at Council's January 2, 2018 Organization Meeting)

- Authorized the advertisement of an ordinance for the purpose of obtaining a $500,000 loan from PNC Bank (ordinance to be considered at the January 2, 2018 Council Organization Meeting).

- Approved the waiver of rights by the Township regarding a right-of-way agreement with the PA Department of Transportation for Wildwood Road.

- Adopted Resolution No. 978 establishing the 2018 remuneration rates for part-time police officers.

- Authorized the advertisement of an ordinance amending the Township's Solicitation Ordinance.

- Authorized the advertisement for bids regarding the Sports Courts Renovation Project.

- Adopted Resolution No. 979 with regard to cost-sharing for Township infrastructure improvements as part of the 2018 PennDOT paving projects (tentative State roads to be paved in 2018 include E. Hardies, W. Hardies, Wildwood Road, Wildwood Road Ext. and Wildwood/Sample Road).

- Adopted Resolution No. 980 regarding the 537 Plan compliance with Section 5 of the Act of January 24, 1966 known as the "Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities Act". (part of the requirement for any upgrades to the Township's Water Pollution Control Plant on Toner Avenue).

- Authorized the advertisement of a public notice for the Act 537 Plan.

- Tabled indefinitely the Tolomeo Preliminary/Final Subdivision (16-18)

- Denied a request to consider the rezoning of the property located at 4390 Route 8 (request to rezone Parcel #949-S-81 from Residential B to Highway Commercial).
