[ARCHIVED] Public Notice - Water Pollution Control Plant & Glannons Pump Station Upgrades

Notice is hereby given that Hampton Township has prepared an Act 537 Sewage Facilities Plan Special Study which proposes upgrades at the Allison Park Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP), including construction of a new headworks building with screening, grit removal, and odor control, elimination of the existing digesters, the repair of leaking walls and asbestos removal in the pipe tunnel, conversion of the existing primary and secondary clarifiers into dry weather sequencing batch reactors (SBRs), construction of new SBRs for wet weather flow, new sludge thickening, dewatering and stabilization, conversion from chlorine to ultraviolet (UV) disinfection, the provision of additional restroom facilities and a garage to house vehicles and provide storage out of the floodway, and various electrical improvements.  The Special Study also proposes upgrades at the Glannons Pump Station.  All work will be constructed under a single phase.  

The estimated project cost for the Allison Park WPCP upgrade is $43.6 million.  The estimated project cost for the Glannons Pump Station upgrade is $1.5 million.  The total estimated project cost is $45.1 million.  It is anticipated that PENNVEST will be the primary financing option.  The estimated rate increase resulting from the project is approximately $27 per customer per month.  

The Special Study is available for review at the Township office located at 3101 McCully Road, Allison Park, PA  15101.  A 30-day public comment period will begin on December 18, 2017, and will end on January 19, 2018.  Questions and comments must be in written form and should be addressed to the Township at the above address, "Attention: Act 537 Comments".
