Hampton Township Council held their Regular Meeting on January 24th; actions from the meeting included, but not limited to:
- Authorized the advertisement of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 397, by changing the selection of the EAC Chairperson from Township Council to the EAC board itself.
- Enacted Ordinance No. 806 entering into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement with Shaler Township regarding the operation of an emergency medical service.
- Adopted Resolution No. 982 opposing House Bill 1620 entitled the "Wireless Infrastructure Deployment Bill" (the Bill removes the municipalities ability to collect funds pertaining to wireless cell phone service incorporated into the cable franchise fees, but also allows wireless infrastructure towers on private residential properties within the utility right-of-way without the property owners' consent and without Township approval.)
- Authorized the release of an additional $39,593 to the Shaler EMS to cover unplanned expenses not part of the Memorandum of Understanding due to the earlier start of providing service to the Hampton community than anticipated.
- Tabled the consideration of an ordinance amending and repealing the existing Solicitation Ordinance, requesting recommendations from the Police Chief and Manager regarding fees and operating times for solicitation permits.
- Authorized Mockenhaupt Benefits Group to complete an actuarial study regarding police service benefit increments.
- Authorized the advertisement for bids regarding the Yarmouth Drive Storm Water Line Replacement Project.
- Awarded contracts to Nick Scotti Concrete and Northern Athletic Construction in the total amount of $407,955 with regard to the Sports Courts Renovation Project (a $200,000 DCNR park renovation grant was received for this project)
- Awarded a contract to Republic Services for sludge hauling services at the Water Pollution Control Plant at a rate of $55.99 per ton.
- Adopted Resolution No. 983 approving the McCandless Township Sanitary Authority Act 537 Plan.
- Approved the Simple Subs Change of Use (18-01) application for a walk-up sandwich shop to be located at 4778 Route 8.
- Approved the release of funds from the improvements security associated with the Hampton Woodlands development.
