On June 18, 2018 at 9:56 a.m., Hampton Township Police responded to Duncan Avenue for a road rage incident that resulted in a vehicle crash. Upon the officer's arrival, they spoke to one operator, who stated that they were traveling eastbound on Duncan Avenue when another vehicle began to tailgate his car. He reported that the other operator then crossed over the double yellow lane lines and passed his vehicle. Immediately upon passing his car, the other driver slammed on their brakes, causing a rear-end style accident. The operator of the other vehicle then exited their car and began pounding on the other driver's window, shouting at him.
Officers then spoke to the other driver, who confirmed the first driver's story. The second driver felt that the other operator was traveling too slow. As he went to pass the other vehicle, he claimed that the other driver "gave him the finger", which made him angry so he slammed on his brakes. Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
