Delivering Christmas to Kids
POLICE OFFICERS GATHER GIFTS FOR KIDS

Our Police Department will once again be participating in this years Presents from Police. Donations of new and unwrapped presents can be brought to the Hampton Township Police Station and the Community Center until December 19th. Below is a brief history and information about this GREAT event!!!!

This Christmas will mark the eighth year for local law enforcement officers from area boroughs and municipalities to come together and collect Christmas presents to be delivered to kids at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh who cannot be home for the holidays.

Presents from Police was founded by Aspinwall Police Officer David Nemec back in 2011. “It was something I felt God put in my heart to find a way for police officers to get involved and help others during a particularly heartfelt and stressful time of the year,” stated Officer Nemec. “In addition to bringing joy to the children, our hope was that it would alleviate some of the pressure on parents so that they could focus on the health of their children and leave the gift getting to us.” Officer Nemec solicits the help of neighboring and regional police departments. The presents are collected and then delivered by a fleet of police cars to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh.

Presents will be collected until Wednesday December 19th and will be delivered on Thursday December 20th.

Presents From Police is a certified 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and all contributions qualify for a charitable tax deduction in accordance with Pennsylvania Law. Checks may be made payable to “Presents From Police” and sent to 840 Grand Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 (Attention: Officer David Nemec).
