Hampton Township Council held their Regular Meeting on Wednesday, January 23rd; actions from the meeting included, but not limited to:
- Authorized the advertisement of a Citizens Town Hall Meeting to be held Wednesday, March 6, 2019, 7:00 p.m. at the Hampton Community Center. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss topics that include the upcoming Allison Park Water Pollution Control Plant upgrade, development of a new Comprehensive Plan, and a ten-year road resurfacing program. Also, there will be an opportunity for general discussion regarding topics that members of the audience present
- Authorized the purchase of a new hot water circulating system at the Community Center through the Capital Improvement Fund Budget
- Adopted Resolution No. 1004 accepting the 2019 rates for engineering services by Trans Associates
- Appointed Jerry Speakman to a three-year term on the Shaler Hampton EMS board
- Certified the new Part-time Police Eligibility List
- Appointed Benjamin Colosimo to the position of part-time police officer effective February 18, 2019
- Authorized a letter to be sent to Allegheny County Council outlining the Township's concerns regarding the establishment of a County (Civilian) Police Review Board
- Approved a sales agreement to purchase 2524 Toner Avenue for the purpose of the Allison Park Water Pollution Control Plant upgrade
- Accepted the January 11, 2019 revised plans pertaining to the Windmont Farms Preliminary PRD application that were submitted and referred them to the Environmental Advisory Council and Planning Commission prior to the February 13, 2019 public hearing and have said plans released to the public for review
- Authorized the advertisement of a new ordinance regulating oil and gas exploration (fracking). A date for the public hearing regarding the proposed ordinance has yet to be determined
- Approved a request to seek resumes/letters of interest from residents who are interested in serving on Township boards and commissions. Vacancies currently exist on the, Environmental Advisory Council, Zoning Hearing Board (alternate position) and the Hampton Community Association
- Discussed upcoming community events, which included the Hampton Community Library Annual Chili Cook Off scheduled for January 26th, and the Hampton Community Association Taste of Hampton scheduled for February 2nd. Both events to be held at the Hampton Community Center
