[ARCHIVED] Memorial Day Public Ceremony Cancelled

This year’s Memorial Day Public Ceremony held at the Hampton Veterans Memorial has been cancelled due to Allegheny County currently being in the COVID-19 Yellow phase, which includes the limitation of gatherings.

Although there will not be an official ceremony that the public can attend, members of the Hampton American Legion will be at the Veterans Memorial located at the Hampton Community Center on Monday, May 25th, for a brief salute to Veterans and the flag.

The American Legion is encouraging residents to drop off flowers at the Community Center from Saturday, May 23rd through Monday morning, May 25th. The designated drop off is in front of the Activity Room outside doors, to the left of the main entrance. The American Legion will place the flowers at the Memorial on Monday.

The Township of Hampton Council, Controller, and Administrative Staff wish to thank Hal English, the American Legion and all of those who have participated and attended this ceremony in the past. We look forward to honoring our veterans together next year.

Have a safe Memorial Day holiday!
