On May 26, 2020 at 11:37 a.m. Hampton Township Police received a phone call request from a resident from Grandview Drive regarding attempted fraud. The resident advised that she received a phone call stemming from New Jersey Judiciary. The caller claimed to be the resident’s grandson and stated that they had been in a car accident. The resident was aware that this is a common phone scam where the scammer uses scare tactics to get people to send money. The caller asked for their name, and the caller provided a name that was not the resident’s actual grandson. The resident ended the call and did not provide any sensitive information.
