On 02/16/2023, the Hampton Twp Police were dispatched to the area of Talley Cavey Rd. for a report of a possible transformer explosion with a wire causing the nearby vegetation to smoke. Upon arrival, a high tension wire was located that had burnt off the top of a telephone pole. ACES notify Duquesne Light to be dispatched to fix the issue. While on scene, Hampton Twp Police received multiple reports of the traffic signals either being out or on flash along the Rt 8 corridor. Officers assisted with traffic control at Wildwood Rd. and William Flinn Hwy until Hampton DPW could get a generator connected to the traffic signals. The lights for McNeal Rd were out and also the lights at Shoppers Plaza were on flash. The lights at Shoppers Plaza were reset and an Officer assisted with traffic control at McNeal Rd. until Hampton DPW connected a generator at those traffic signals.
