On 10/11/2023, Hampton Township Police were dispatched to the area of William Flinn Highway and Craighead Road for a report of a two-vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Upon arrival, the responding Officer confirmed there were no injuries and only one vehicle was directly involved in a crash. The accident was said to have happened when one vehicle approached the intersection of Craighead Road and William Flinn Highway, and did not stop at the stop sign. The vehicle then continued to make a right hand turn onto William Flinn Highway, which caused a second vehicle to swerve into the left-hand lane to avoid the collision. As a result of avoiding the collision with the at-fault vehicle, the second vehicle swerved back to the right and was unable to regain control, which resulted in the car going over the curb and into a large light pole on the right-hand side of the roadway. The second vehicle sustained severe damage and needed towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. There was damage to a PennDOT owned utility pole. Hampton Fire Department was dispatched to the scene for containment due to fluids from the vehicle on the roadway.
