In conjunction with the recently adopted Comprehensive Recreation, Park and Open Space Plan as well as meeting DEP MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) requirements, the Township is embarking on a three-phase maintenance and enhancement project to the community park pond. This project will also include accessible recreation and educational opportunities once completed. A rendering of each phase of the project can be viewed here.
For your own safety, please do not access the pond area during the construction phases.
We understand that you may be concerned regarding how many trees are being removed during Phase 1. Phase 3 does include re-establishing some trees around the pond area. Also, please rest assured that our Public Works Department, Girl Scouts, and other organizations continue to plant trees throughout the community park, including the upper orchard.
