On May 27, 2015, 7:30 p.m., at its regularly scheduled public meeting in Council Chambers, or at a timely and duly scheduled regular Council meeting thereafter, Township Council will consider and, if appropriate, may enact an ordinance entitled and summarized as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF HAMPTON, ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS OF ITS ZONING ORDINANCE, AS CODIFIED AT CHAPTER 310 OF THE HAMPTON TOWNSHIP CODE OF ORDINANCES.
Summary of proposed Zoning Ordinance amendments: This periodic zoning update includes new provisions allowing for beekeeping as an accessory use in certain residential districts, with accompanying rules; new provisions allowing for self-storage facilities as a conditional use in the HC & LI districts, with associated definitions and conditional use rules; updated wireless communications facilities provisions and associated definitions, conditional use rules and performance standards; new provisions creating a PNRD (planned non-residential district) overlay within portions of the HC district, with associated rules and procedures; updating certain residential fence/hedge/wall rules; updating rules regarding projections into residential yards; updating home occupation rules; updating rules for temporary signage, certain institutional dynamic display signs, for pole sign height/dimensions, and for NC district signage; updating certain parking surface requirements; updating rules for consolidation of nonconforming lots under common ownership; revising rules regarding ingress to apartments within commercial buildings; updated rules regarding permits required for commercial accessory structures; updated rules regarding issuance, duration and conditions of building permits, and times of construction; and also correcting miscellaneous typos and updating cross-references to other Ordinances.
The proposed Zoning Ordinance amendments may be viewed at the Hampton Township Municipal Building from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays; at the office of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette; and at the Office of the Allegheny County Council Clerk, Allegheny County Courthouse, Pittsburgh, PA.
