As a life long Western Pennsylvania native who has a passion for sports, I was blessed to have enjoyed my teenage years growing up in the Pittsburgh area when Pittsburgh was known as the City of Champions! I am a 1976 graduate of Shaler Area High School where I was a varsity letter winner in the sports of Cross Country and Track.
After graduating from high school, I attended Slippery Rock State College before transferring to the University of Pittsburgh. While at Pitt I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Urban Studies and Geography.
During my experience as an undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh I had the opportunity to serve as an intern with the City of Pittsburgh Planning Department. While gaining invaluable experience from this opportunity I became convinced that I would need to attend graduate school in order to achieve my career goals. In 1981, I applied to and was accepted into Pitt's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) where I earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Finance Management. Upon receiving this degree I began my professional career with the Borough of Edgewood where I was hired as the community's youngest serving Borough Manager at the age of 24. I served in this position for 3 and 1/2 years until August, 1986.
On September 16, 1986, I joined the Administrative Staff of the Township of Hampton as Municipal Manager. Since that date, Hampton has experienced a great deal of housing development and expansion of the Township's infrastructure. During this time it has been my honor and privilege to assist Township Council in the management of this growth. I truly believe the Hampton Community is second to none as a place where you want to live and raise a family. That is why I have lived in the Township since 1991 with my wife Janet, who is a Medical Technologist and a full-time mother to our 3 children; Erin, Alex and Michael.
In my spare time, I enjoy doing things with and for my wife, and children as well, such as jogging / running, watching soccer, high school football, University of Pittsburgh football and basketball, and yes; the best reason for the autumn season, Pittsburgh Steeler football.
